NAI Partners raises funds to provide gifts for Child Advocates' Santa's Wish List Program

December 8, 2016

NAI Partners is pleased to have been able to raise funds to provide gifts for more than 20 children as part of Child Advocates' Santa's Wish List Program. Santa's Wish List provides Christmas gifts for children served by the Child Advocates, who have been victims of life-threatening abuse or neglect and - as a result - have been placed in protective custody of Child Protective Services. The Santa's Wish List program makes the holiday season brighter for these children who might otherwise be without gifts for Christmas.

NAI Partners has arranged the sale of a crane-served manufacturing facility located at 8550 Telephone Road in Houston. Metal Works Properties sold the 57,360-square-foot property to Durco Ltd. for an undisclosed price. Chris Caudill of NAI Partners represented the seller, while Barrett Gibson and Jeff Peltier of Colliers International represented the buyer in the deal.

Members of NAI Partners' leadership team quoted in two Houston Chronicle articles

NAI Partners' Managing Partner Jon Silberman was quoted in the Houston Chronice this past week in the aftermath of the news that Shell would be leaving its namesake plaza in downtown Houston; while Jim Tainter, Managing Director of the company's Landlord Services line of business was interviewed in an article announcing NAI Partners' hiring as the exclusive leasing agent for Tenaris' 2200 West Loop South.

Said Silberman on the Shell news: "Others will come to fill the gaps. You kind of wonder what's going to fill all the space. What industry? Eventually the energy industry will come back."

And Tainter on Tenaris: "Like any good corporate owner and occupier of commercial real estate, you certainly want to do all you can to strategically maximize your real estate's utilization."


Bandy on the Houston sublease market at O'Connor & Associates' Office Forecast Luncheon

Our own Griff Bandy discussed the sublease market at O'Connor & Associates' recent Houston Office Forecast Luncheon. Among Griff's talking points:

  • Sublease availability continues to increase, but at slower rates, to just under 12.2 million SF, compared to the historical average of 3.33 million SF prior to current oil downturn.
  • Sublessors are lowering initial quotes and, in some cases, agreeing to abate rent to secure subtenants
  • Larger blocks of sublease space are continuing to come on the market.

NAI Partners’ fundraising efforts provide new backpacks and school supplies just in time for the school year

NAI Partners recently held an internal fundraising event at its Houston office on behalf of Child Advocates in which more than 50 backpacks were assembled with new school supplies for donation to children for the upcoming school year.

“Passion and dedication are two of our company’s core values,” said Travis Land, partner in the firm and organizer of the successful fundraiser. “We’re thankful for the opportunity to show our passion for our local communities and dedication to giving back on behalf of this important cause.”

Child Advocates is a private, non-profit organization in Houston dedicated to breaking the cycle of child abuse through the court appointed special advocate system.

July 1, 2016 -- NAI Partners has negotiated a lease renewal for Service Master Southwest at 12613 Executive Drive in Stafford, a suburb of Houston. The company will continue to occupy 14,950 square feet of industrial warehouse and office space at the property. Chris Caudill of NAI Partners represented the tenant during the lease negotiations, while Bo Pettit of Boyd Commercial represented the landlord, Crow Holdings.

Our own Nat Holland's research was featured in the December 8 edition of Bisnow in an article entitled "Houston's Sublease Inventory Decreases for First Time in Over Two Years." The article notes that "the uptick is in part due to the difference in rents. Sublease asking rents for Class-A buildings are the farthest they've been from direct asking rents in 17 years. The difference: $8.52/SF for Class-A and $4.29 for Class-B, according to research by NAI Partners."
